Michael Schumacher was the one they all had to catch on the second day of pre-season testing in Jerez.
The Mercedes driver clocked 1:18.561 in the morning and his time, which came in his 2011 car, proved too good for the rest to beat as the day wore on.
Mark Webber had been at the top of the timesheets but Schumacher burst through to displace him and the Australian had to settle for second with his best time of 1:19.184 coming in the afternoon.
Toro Rosso's Daniel Ricciardo was the third fastest with Jules Bianchi in the Force India fourth just ahead of former world champion Kimi Raikkonen's Lotus E20.
Paul Di Resta brought his Force India home in sixth with Felipe Massa and Jenson Button finishing seventh and eighth respectively, while Pastor Moldonado, Heikki Kovalainen and Pedro De La Rosa followed in behind.
The day was not without incident as Raikkonen ran wide on an early run, scattering gravel across the circuit, resulting in the session being brought to a halt.
