Swansea have been boosted by the news Brendan Rodgers has penned a new three-year deal with the club.

Swans chairman Huw Jenkins has been working on the deal for some time and Rodgers has now put pen-to-paper on the contract that will run until 2015.

Rodgers has worked wonders at the Liberty Stadium since taking charge 19 months ago and there were fears that other clubs could start sniffing around the former Watford and Reading man.

However, Rodgers signing should end all the rumours and the Northern Irishman says he is looking forward to a bright future with the club.

"I am delighted to sign the new deal," he told the club's website. "I hope the club and supporters feel it is still a good fit for everyone.

"I've been very pleased with my work over the last 19 months.

"I can only promise that over the next three-and-a-half years I will continue to fight for the club and its people to help us become a sustainable Premier League club."

Rodgers also stated how he loves the area and signing the contract was the easiest decision in his life.

Swansea are 10th in the Premier League and Rodgers will now be hoping for a strong finish to the season starting with three points against Norwich this weekend.
