Aston Villa will be without Richard Dunne for up to a month after he dislocated his shoulder in their 1-0 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.
Villa were on the back foot throughout and Alex McLeish's woes were compounded as the Republic of Ireland defender was taken off at the death with the injury.
The setback couldn't have come at a worse time for the Villa boss who is short of options at the back after Ciaran Clark was also ruled out for a period of time after damaging knee ligaments in training on Saturday,
McLeish said: "We've a specialist in looking at him (Dunne).
"I'm not sure what is going to happen with the big 'un, whether he is going to go to hospital or whatever, or what they do when a shoulder is dislocated, whether they stick it back in.
"I can't give you an answer just now, but I do believe he is going to be out for at least a month, so that's serious enough."
