QPR manager Mark Hughes has revealed he has been impressed with the performances of Adel Taarabt and feels he can only get better.
The 22-year-old was inspirational in the club's promotion to the Premier League as Championship winners last season, picking up the Football League Player of the Season award in the process.
Taarabt has failed to make the same impact this season though and had a number of public fall outs with previous Hoops boss Neil Warnock.
The Morroco international looked certain to leave the club and was linked with a move to PSG in the January transfer window but no move materialised.
However, the sacking of Warnock and subsequent appointment of Hughes in mid-January appears to have given Taarabt a new lease of life at Loftus Road.
The Welshman was particularly impressed with Taarabt's performance against Wolves two weeks ago, when he put in a fine display despite Djibril Cisse's early red card hampering the club's chances.
Hughes has tipped the former Tottenham man to repeat those kind of displays to help keep the club in the top flight and then get even better in the coming seasons.
"I'm enjoying working with him," he told West London Sport. "He's a very bright kid, he's good around the place, and I've been really, really impressed with him.
"I think there's more to come. With the right work and the right direction he could be more effective than he has been in the past.
"It's his first season in the Premier League and we want to make sure he improves year on year. I think with my and my staff's help he'll be a better player."
