Peslier booked for Rizeena
Coronation Stakes winner Rizeena will be ridden by Olivier Peslier in Friday’s QIPCO Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket.
Clive Brittain’s filly has been ridden by Ryan Moore, Richard Hughes and James Doyle, but with all three engaged elsewhere, the trainer has booked Peslier for the mount.
“Olivier Peslier is as good a jockey as there is, I rate him very highly,” Brittain said.
“Rizeena is in very good form and I am looking forward to Friday. She has done very well since Ascot and her work has been good.
“She has never won at Newmarket before but she has run very well there in defeat. I don’t think the undulating course will be a problem – she works well on [undulating gallops] the Limekilns and the Al Bahathri and has never checked her stride.
“She has won on softish ground so she should cope if the showers hit and she’s a big strong filly who I’m sure will be up to taking on older horses for the first time – she took on the colts last year.”
Richard Hannon’s Sky Lantern found Elusive Kate a neck too good in the Group One a year ago, but she will return to Newmarket bidding to go one better.
Integral, another Royal Ascot winner, takes her chance for Michael Stoute, while Certify has stood her ground for Godolphin.
