Ligue 1 leaders Lyon were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Lille on Saturday evening as Fabio Grosso scored on his return to action for Claude Puel’s side.
Former Lille boss Puel was facing his old side for the first time since taking charge of Lyon, but it was not a happy reacquaintance for him.
Adil Rami headed the visitors to Stade Gerland into the lead after 14 minutes but Lyon were level shortly after when Aurelien Chedjou Fongang put through his own net.
Michel Bastos restored Lille’s lead before Grosso hit back 15 minutes from time to at least rescue a point.
Yoan Gourcuff inspired Bordeaux to a 2-1 win over Toulouse on Saturday as Laurent Blanc’s side climbed to fourth place.
The man on loan from Milan scored a sensational opener on 29 minutes as he flicked the ball round two defenders and spun off to fire his side into the lead.
Gourcuff then set team-mate David Bellion up for Bordeaux’s second as he fed the striker in on goal. Etienne Capoue scored a consolation for the visitors in the 90th minute, but it was too little too late as Bordeaux leapfrogged their opponents in the league table.
Elsewhere, Paris Saint Germain twice came from behind to beat Lorient 3-2 at Parc des Princes, with substitute Loris Arnaud scoring a late header to lift his side to eighth in the table, and Nice climbed up the table with a 2-1 win away at Monaco – Habib Bamogo and Emerse Fae on target.
Caen and Grenoble’s mid-table battle ended in a 2-2 draw and the two bottom teams – Sochaux and Le Havre – shared a 1-1 draw at Auguste-Bonal.
Nantes made up ground on Saint Etienne in the bottom half of the table by beating them as Christian Bekamenga scored the only goal of the game.
