Check out the latest addition to our exclusive Team of the Week feature that will be updated after every round of games.
There were nine goals scored, four clean sheets kept, and plenty of major talking points from the five games in Round Seventeen.
Drogheda United have two representatives in our selection after beating St Patrick's Athletic, while Bohemians, Derry City, Dundalk, and Shamrock Rovers also have two players included.
Our team is selected by gathering as much information from reliable sources at each game as well as having some of our own reporters at specific matches.
If you agree or disagree with our choices then let us know by leaving a comment at the foot of the page.
Goalkeeper: Barry Ryan [Galway United]
He may have conceded a goal and ended up on the losing side, but Ryan did more than enough to catch the eye this week. Not only did he save a penalty from Greg Cameron, he also produced a host of top class saves to keep his side in the game - but they ultimately failed to find the equalisier that they continued to scrap for.
Right-Back: Ger O'Brien [Derry City]
Although they haven't always played together on the right flank this season, O'Brien and Gareth McGlynn have struck up a good understanding when they have commanded that side of the pitch. The former Shamrock Rovers man was superb in the 2-0 win over Bray Wanderers and is turning out to be a shrewd signing by Stephen Kenny.
Centre-Back: Thomas Heary [Dundalk]
There were a few contenders for the Man of the Match award in Dundalk's 2-1 victory over Cork City on Friday, yet it was Heary that stood out amongst the rest. He used all of his experience to hold a tight line, keep a close watch on Guntars Siligailis, make vital interceptions, and constantly marshal his fellow defenders when the pressure came on.
Centre-Back: Aidan Price [Shamrock Rovers]
Only a few weeks ago there were rumours that Price was ready to leave The Hoops, but after a good run of games he has once again established himself as a key player for Michael O'Neill's side. He helped Craig Sieves get through the 1-0 win over Galway United and put in a noteworthy shift himself.
Left-Back: Ian Bermingham [Shamrock Rovers]
Bermingham was superb against Galway on Saturday as he helped his team claim a much-needed win. The crowd packed into the Tallaght Stadium witnessed a fine display from the ex-UCD man as he kept a close watch on fellow Republic of Ireland U-21 international Jay O'Shea.
Right Wing: Declan O'Brien [Dundalk]
Despite being asked to play on the right wing, O'Brien defied his recent spate of injuries to produce a fine performance for The Lilywhites in their 2-1 triumph over Cork City. He got two assists and showed manager Sean Connor exactly what he is capable of once he is given time on the pitch.
Centre Midfield: Gary Deegan [Bohemians]
They certainly like their central midfielders at Dalymount Park and the Bohs faithful have a particular fondness for Deegan. The high energy player tackles, passes, runs, and shoots with the same ferocity and somehow manages to keep it going for long periods in games. He bagged a goal and an assist in the 2-0 win over Sligo Rovers.
Centre Midfield: James Chambers [Drogheda United]
One of the unsung heroes in the Drogheda team this season, Chambers was fantastic in his team's latest victory that came against St Patrick's Athletic. He has been given responsibilty at set-pieces and is a constant driving force in the middle of the pitch for Alan Mathews' side.
Left Wing: Killian Brennan [Bohemians]
It may have taken some time, but Brennan appears to have finally found his form again. He was outstanding as The Gypsies got back to winning ways in the league on Friday. If he can get back to the level where he was last term, then he will be a major assest for Bohs in their push to retain their Premier Division crown.
Forward: Mark Farren [Derry City]
A fine finish from last season's top scorer proved to be the winning goal as Derry closed the gap on leaders Bohemians thanks to a win against Bray Wanderers. If he can start firing on a regular basis then The Foylesiders will stay in the hunt for silverware.
Forward: Shane Barrett [Drogheda United]
Drogs supporters were pleased when Barrett re-signed for the club this season as they know what he is capable of in front of goal. He has had more than his fair share of injuries, but finally got the goal that his recent displays have deserved when he scored against St Patrick's Athletic.
