Wenger coy on future
Arsene Wenger has made a decision on his Arsenal future but is keeping his cards close to his chest for the time being.
Wenger’s 17 years at Arsenal makes him the longest-serving manager in the Premier League, but with his contract due to expire at the end of the season it remains to be seen whether he will still be at the Emirates next year.
Talks over a new deal have been going on for some time but when pressed on the situation at his weekly press conference, the Frenchman indicated that he had already made up his mind.
“There is always a point where you have to decide, of course. There is a point where you have to decide and there is a point where you have to make your decision public,” Wenger told reporters.
When asked if that meant he had already made his decision, Wenger replied: “You can take of that sentence the way you want it.”
Although Wenger has refused to discuss the matter, it has been widely reported that a new contract will be signed in the coming weeks.
