Talking Sport with John Hartson

18 November 2010

TALKING SPORT WITH JOHN HARTSON MONDAY NOVEMBER 22nd at 9.30pm Channel: Setanta Ireland

John Hartson is one of the most recognisable men in football. The 6' 3'' striker was prolific in front of goals in a career that saw him play with Arsenal, West ham, Wimbledon and Coventry in the Premier League. However, he is probably best known for his time at Celtic where he scored 110 goals in 230 appearances for the Bhoys. In five years he won three Scottish Premier League titles and helped Celtic to a UEFA Cup final, scoring the winning goal against Liverpool on the way. Hartson's turbulent private life drew a lot of unwanted media attention off the pitch and his hard man image on it made him a target for opponents. In 2009 the Welshman was diagnosed with testicular cancer but survived and has now set up the ''John Hartson Foundation'' to educated men about this life threatening disease.

Marie Crowe presents Talking Sport as John Hartson speaks with brutal honesty about his controversial life, his career and the illness that threatened to end it all. This is one not to be missed.
