Reina would love Barca return
Pepe Reina would love to return to Barcelona but is refusing to look beyond his loan spell at Napoli.
Reina has been strongly linked with a return to the Nou Camp at the end of the current season as a replacement for Victor Valdes, who is due to leave the club in the summer.
Currently on a season-long loan with Napoli, Reina is aware that his name has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Valdes, but the 31-year-old believes the Catalan giants will be looking at a number of options.
“I would love to return to Barcelona,” Reina told El Mundo Deportivo. “To play at Barca is a privilege.
“But I imagine that my name is on a list with others.
“Barca is a top club and Victor Valdes’ departure will have alerted other candidates so a return will be very difficult.
“Right now I’m not thinking about it.
“I was fortunate to play there once and I consider myself privileged to have done that.
“The important thing is that I continue to do well at Napoli.”
Reina has another three years to run on his contract with Liverpool, but it remains to be seen whether he will return to Anfield.
