Ten-man Everton draw at QPR

Winless QPR remain bottom of the Premier League with just three points from their first eight games after drawing 1-1 with ten-man Everton at Loftus Road.

Mark Hughes’ side had a dream start when Junior Hoilett’s optimistic third-minute shot deflected off Leighton Baines and past Toffees’ goalkeeper Tim Howard.

Everton equalised just after the half-hour mark when Sylvain Distin beat Bobby Zamora to a cross in area and his header hit the base of the post, bounced off the back of goalkeeper Julio Cesar and into the net for an own goal.

Referee Jonathan Moss sent off Everton’s Steven Pienaar on the hour following two yellow cards, but was kind to the away side later in the game when he did not pint to the spot despite Seamus Coleman appearing to trip Hoilett inside the area.
