Portsmouth boss Steve Cotterill has confirmed that they are closing in on a loan deal for Wolves defender Greg Halford.
The resurgent Championship outfit agreed a deal with Wolves boss Mick McCarthy to take the full-back to Fratton Park ahead of their 3-2 win against Watford on Saturday.
However the Pompey administrators did not give the move the nod in time so Cotterill is now looking to get Halford on board at some point this week.
"Something should have happened with Greg Halford on Friday, but to my annoyance it didn't," Cotterill told The News.
"I'm not saying anything else on it. He was in and he trained with us on Friday.
"I can hope that something may happen this week.
"It was all ready to go on Friday and hopefully it still will go. I hope."
