Wilson wins Phoenix Open

Mark Wilson has won his second title of the season with victory in the Phoenix Open in Arizona.

Wilson beat fellow American Jason Dufner at the second play-off with an eight-foot birdie putt. This came after both players had tied on 18-under-par.

The Sony Open champion had led by two shots when play resumed with six holes to go.

However, he parred all of his holes and Dufner's birdies on the 16th and 17th gave him a chance at winning his first tour title.

He failed with a 20-foot effort on the first play-off hole, and saw his chances of victory fall asunder when he drove into the rough on the next.

The pair finished two shots ahead of Scot Martin Laird and Fijian star Vijay Singh.
