Healy not worried by schedule change

Cian Healy is not unduly worried at the prospect of having to play four RBS Six Nations matches on the bounce.

While a date for the postponed France and Ireland match has yet to be finalised, the weekend of March 3-4 is looking increasingly likely after the Six Nations Council ruled out playing the abandoned fixture on February 18 or 19.

If the match is rescheduled for March 3, the French Federation and French TV must be in agreement before a decision is reached, Ireland and France will have to play four matches in as many weeks which could seriously harm their chances of claiming the championship.

Healy admits it is not an ideal situation but he is confident the squad will be able to cope with the pressure of having to play four weekends in a row before returning to their provinces.

"You're not hoping to be able to change it once the decisions made and you have to get on with it," Healy told TV3.

"I think it will be all right. The lads are all in good condition so four in a row shouldn't be too bad."

Saturday's match was abandoned just six minutes before kick-off after referee Dave Pearson deemed the Stade de France pitch to be unplayable due.

Sub-zero temperatures greeted the two sides as they went through their warm ups but the match looked set to go ahead until Pearson ruled that it was unsafe due to parts of the pitch being frozen.

"We were all fair set to go, about to walk out when the ref came in and I didn't hear him, but I saw the facial expressions of Deccie and it was just kind of obvious it wasn't going ahead then," Healy went on.

"So it was a bit of an anti-climax. I don't think anyone really knew what was going on so we were like 'we're supposed to be bashing each other now'. It was just something we had to get on with."
