Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg will be challenging for chequered flags for the rest of the season according to McLaren's Jenson Button.
Rosberg has been on the verge of wins in the past but finally broke his duck at the Chinese Grand Prix last weekend with victory in Shanghai ahead of Button and Lewis Hamilton, who finished second and third respectively.
The win has highlighted how far Mercedes have come this season as they have been pushing McLaren both in qualifying and in races so far this term.
Rosberg now looks set to challenge in meetings for the rest of the campaign and Button has backed the German to be fighting for wins from now on.
He said: "I'm sure that this won't be Nico's first and last win. They - the team - seem very competitive this year and Nico obviously hasn't put a foot wrong all weekend.
"So I think we're going to have a battle on our hands this year which is good to see."
Rosberg will now be looking ahead to this weekend's meeting in Bahrain as the 26-year-old hopes to make it back to back wins to climb up the standings.
