Arsenal target Ibrahim Afellay has refused to shut the door on a move away from PSV in the January transfer window.
Afellay is exactly the type of player that Arsene Wenger regularly adds to his Arsenal squad – a true ball player who puts finesse over brawn.
The 22-year-old has been linked with a switch to Emirates Stadium, with Emmanuel Eboue said to be on the hitlist of Juventus.
Afellay currently has a contract until 2011 – but only after a stalled period of contract negotiations, and he admits the possibility of a transfer is not out of the question if the right club comes knocking.
"I told them then from day one that I would like to stay with PSV. But it took them a long time to decide,” he told NRC Handelsblad.
"More than once I thought 'come on guys, what are we talking about?' I have spent my entire career at PSV. Then you expect that things go more smoothly.
"I can't say that I will finish the season at PSV no matter what. You can't plan anything in football. It can change from day to day. At the moment I feel fine at PSV. We will see what happens."
