In-demand goalkeeper Carlos Kameni has been told by Espanyol's sporting director that he will not be allowed to move in January.
The Cameroon international has been linked to a host of clubs including Tottenham and Bordeaux, but sporting director German de la Cruz has stated that he would prefer him to leave as a free agent next June rather than lose him during the transfer window.
The Pericos are fighting against relegation this term and Kameni is playing out his last year of contract with the Catalonian side.
The highly rated shot-stopper is yet to sign a new deal with Espanyol and is not expected to do so by the Spanish press.
De la Cruz said: “All the clubs can give up on Kameni, he will not be moving in January.”
