Weymouth's woes continued with a 2-0 defeat at York, while leaders Burton were held at Woking.
Oxford 0 Torquay 2
Torquay cemented their place in the play-offs with a 2-0 win at fellow promotion rivals Oxford.
Elliott Benyon proved to be the hero for Torquay with a brace of goals in the second half. The opener came on 64 minutes, with Benyon converting from close range.
Oxford's hopes of mounting a comeback were dashed 20 minutes from time, but they only had themselves to blame as keeper Billy Turley mis-hit his clearance straight to Benyon who strode forward to score.
Lewes 0 Histon 3
Promotion chasing Histon stretched their unbeaten run to five games as they thumped sorry Lewes at the Dripping Pan.
Josh Simpson eased the visitors ahead in the 25th minute when he rifled the ball into the top corner of the net from the edge of the box to leave keeper Rikki Banks with no chance.
Jamie Barker doubled The Stutes' lead seven minutes into the second half when he fired home from close range, latching onto Daniel Wright’s cross.
And Barker wrapped up the points in the 71st minute when he found himself unmarked in the box and headed home from close range from Lanre Oyebanjo’s cross.
York 2 Weymouth 0
Striker Richard Brodie netted twice to heap more misery on crisis-club Weymouth and boost their survival hopes.
Weymouth – who were thumped 9-0 by Rushden last week after they were forced to field a youth team – had strengthened their squad but fell behind after just 22 minutes.
Brodie found himself unmarked in the Terras box and he headed home the simplest of chances from Simon Russell’s cross.
And the hitman bagged his 15th of the season with virtually the last touch of the game when he nodded home Simon Rusk’s inch-perfect centre.
Cambridge 1 Crawley 1
Cambridge substitute Courtney Pitt struck a stunning late equaliser to earn The U’s a point in a feisty clash with Crawley.
After a tight opening Crawley, who had hammered The U’s 5-0 on their own patch in the Trophy, grabbed the lead in the 33rd minute when Jon Shaw headed in Michael Malcolm’s cross.
Cambridge boss Gary Brabin responded at the break by introducing Pitt and Robbie Willmott from the bench and the switch almost paid off as Scott Rendell went close to an equaliser.
Strike partner Chris Holroyd went close as the visitors, who had seven players booked, sat back and they were pegged back when Pitt smashed in a 25-yard free-kick with eight minutes to go.
Altrincham 1 Stevenage 2
Mark Roberts grabbed a 93rd minute winner as Stevenage came from behind to deny Altrincham a second successive win.
The Robins went in front in the 22nd minute when Colin Little was fouled in the box by Mark Roberts before picking himself up to fire his 11th goal of the season past Chris Day.
Little was twice denied a second by Day and the misses proved costly when Andy Drury headed Boro level 19 minutes from time.
The visitors piled forward in search of the winner and were rewarded when Roberts beat Coburn from the edge of the box in the dying seconds.
Kidderminster 2 Eastbourne 0
Matthew Barnes-Homer’s double fired Kidderminster to an unlikely win after they played more than 70 minutes with ten men.
Harriers went reduced to ten in the 14th minute when veteran defender Craig Armstrong hacked down Dan Smith and went for an early bath.
But Mark Yates’ men grabbed the lead six minutes later when Barnes-Homer seized on Paul Armstrong’s error and curled a shot past Lee Hook.
And three minutes later it was two when Barnes-Homer converted David McDermott’s cross for his 15th goal of the season.
Eastbourne dominated possession for the remainder of the game but Adam Bartlett denied Paul Armstrong from their best chance after the break.
Forest Green 1 Grays 1
Former Forest Green loanee Ishmael Welsh came back to haunt Rovers with a second-half equaliser at The New Lawn.
Andy Mangan, who fired a hat-trick in midweek in the 3-3 draw with Torquay, broke the deadlock in the 27th minute when he latched onto David Brown’s cross and curled a shot beyond Steven Arnold.
A magnificent Terry Burton save denied Barry Cogan an equaliser before the break but The Blues were level 20 minutes from time.
Stuart Thurgood found Welsh in the box and he kept his cool to fire beyond the reach of Burton to claim the point.
Barrow 0 Northwich 0
Barrow defender Steve McNulty saw red for the second time this season but The Bluebirds held on for a crucial point at home to Northwich.
In a match of few chances, The Vics went closest in the first half when Alan Martin denied Damian Reeves.
Debutant Peter Winn was a threat for the hosts after joining on-loan from Scunthorpe but they were down to ten men when McNulty was sent off for a second bookable offence on the hour.
Winn was denied a winner by Ryan Clarke in the final five minutes but the visitors deserved their point.
Rushden & Diamonds 0 Mansfield 1
Robert Duffy kept his cool from the penalty spot to slot home a priceless winner for Mansfield in the dying minutes against Rushden & Diamonds.
Referee Scott Duncan showed no hesitation in pointing to the spot in the 88th minute after Gary Silk had been fouled by Chris Arthur and Duffy stroked the ball home from 12 yards.
Mansfield had looked the most likely to break the deadlock at Nene Park as Duffy and Jonathan D’Laryea tested keeper Dale Roberts.
In-form Lee Tomlin twice missed chances to give the Diamonds the lead after the interval before Duffy inflicted late heartbreak on Justin Edinburgh’s men.
Woking 0 Burton Albion 0
New signing Danny Knowles was the Woking hero as he denied Burton striker Shaun Harrad twice in injury time to secure an unlikely point.
Knowles – making his home debut since a move from Weymouth – had to be at his best to deny 14-goal hitman with two reflex saves.
Greg Pearson and Keith Gilroy also missed chances as relegation-threatened Woking gave their survival chances a welcome boost against the table-toppers.
Wrexham 1 Salisbury 1
Wrexham’s play-off dream took another hit as Salisbury came from a goal behind to pick up a point at The Racecourse Ground.
Ryan Flynn took just six minutes to break through the Salisbury defence when he crashed home Jonathan Brown’s cross from close range.
Red Dragons keeper Gavin Ward was forced to keep Dean Saunders’ men ahead with two smart saves from Darrell Clarke and Matt Tubbs.
But Wrexham’s resistance was broken midway through the second half when Tubbs turned provider for Charles Ademeno to head the equaliser.
