Cristiano Ronaldo has labelled Portugal’s World Cup qualifier against Sweden a ‘must-win' game.
The Manchester United star admits the third-placed Selecao are desperate for three points in Group 1, and he is determined to bag a vital win on Saturday to keep his World Cup hopes alive.
“It’s a must-win game, and I hope that Portugal will claim a positive result,” Ronaldo told A Bola.
“Our team is feeling better and better.
“Of course we don’t feel relaxed at all regarding our latest results, because we are yet to match our targets, but I am hopeful we will soon.
“Portugal’s team has played very well in the past, and from now on it’s our turn to improve our football.”
Sweden and Inter star Zlatan Ibrahimovic will miss the highly anticipated clash, but Ronaldo remains convinced that they will be tough adversaries on Saturday.
“He [Ibrahimovic] is a great player, but Sweden have a very good squad, so Portugal will have to be wary of all of their players,” he said.
