Blue Square Premier preview

Burton will be looking to extend their lead at the top yet further with three points at home to Kettering on Tuesday.

Burton v Kettering

Burton boss Roy McFarland must decide whether to stick with captain Darren Stride as an emergency target-man for the clash with Kettering.

Stride, usually a defender, caused havoc in tandem with Lee Morris in the 4-0 win over Grays and his form could keep Martin Butler and Greg Pearson on the bench again.

Play-off chasing Kettering are set to be unchanged for the trip to The Pirelli Stadium after their weekend win over Ebbsfleet.

On-loan Peterborough striker Ben Wright bagged both goals against Fleet so fellow loanee Ryan Charles remains a substitute.

Histon v Mansfield

Histon midfielder Neil Andrews is in line to start against Mansfield after replacing Jamie Barker at the break in the win against Wrexham.

Striker Daniel Wright is unlikely to face The Stags as his hamstring strain still hasn’t cleared up.

Mansfield are still without suspended midfielder Matt Somner so Neil MacKenzie will start alongside Jon D’Laryea.

Boss David Holdworth could also make changes in attack with Daryl Clare and Mark Stallard in contention for recalls.

York v Stevenage

York striker Onome Sodje’s impressive display in the weekend draw with Kidderminster will assure him of a start against Stevenage.

The former Ebbsfleet striker was recalled at the expense of Adam Boyes and he will start alongside Daniel McBreen and Richard Brodie, who plays his last match before a two-game ban.

Stevenage will be without key midfielder David Bridges after he was carried off in the draw with Oxford because of suspected knee ligament damage.

Bridges' place is set to be taken by Darren Murphy with new signing Junior Mendes keeping his place on the right wing.

Eastbourne v Crawley

Eastbourne hope to have key trio Matt Crabb, Nathan Crabb and Matt Smart available for the Sussex derby with Crawley.

On-loan Brighton striker Sam Gargan is a doubt after limping off in the defeat at Salisbury so West Ham youngster Jack Jeffrey could deputise.

Crawley don’t expect to have midfielder Thomas Pinault available as his ankle problem hasn’t completely cleared up.

Jamie Cook and Danny Forrest are pushing for recalls after coming off the bench in the 2-2 draw with Altrincham.

Ebbsfleet v Altrincham

On-loan Charlton midfielder Rashid Yussuf could be handed his Ebbsfleet debut as Liam Daish’s men bid to end a four-game losing run.

Striker Luke Moore is set to replace on-loan Gillingham striker Luis Cumbers after coming off the bench for the youngster at Kettering.

Altrincham will be forced into at least one change for the long trip south as Michael Welch suffered ankle ligament damage in the 2-2 draw with Crawley.

On-loan York midfielder Ben Wilkinson or Warren Peyton will deputise for the versatile Welch.

Grays v Rushden

Grays will ring the changes for the return of former boss Justin Edinburgh’s Rushden after they were hammered at Burton.

Crystal Palace youngster Joe Sweeney could get a debut in attack with fellow new-boys Sam Long and Ronnie Jones in joint-bosses Gary Phillips and Mick Woodward’s plans.

Diamonds defender Michael Corcoran misses the game after he was sent off in the weekend defeat at Northwich and Curtis Osano is still out with a knee injury.

And Edinburgh is expected to recall Michael Rankine and Sam Smith after they impressed off the bench at the weekend.

Northwich v Salisbury

Northwich’s joy at their first win under Andy Preece hasn’t lasted long with defender Mike Aspin set to walk out on the club before the clash with Salisbury because of unpaid wages.

Preece will stick with the same team that saw off Rushden with midfielder Joel Byrom buoyed by his first career hat-trick at the weekend.

Salisbury have secured on-loan Torquay midfielder Michael Brough until the end of the season and he will start at The Victoria Stadium.

Fellow loanee Charles Ademeno pressed his claims for a starting position by coming off the bench to seal the weekend win over Eastbourne.
