Portugal‘s chances of qualifying for the 2010 World Cup are slim, according to Pauleta.
Carlos Queiroz’s side once again dropped points in Group One on Saturday night at the Dragoes, with Portugal sharing the points with Sweden in a goalless draw.
Chelsea midfielder Deco made his return to action but Jose Bosingwa picked up an injury and Cristiano Ronaldo missed a free header shortly before the final whistle.
Portugal sit third in their group, four points behind Hungary and Denmark, and the legendary Pauleta, who scored 47 times in 88 international appearances, does not rate their chances as high.
“There is a reason to be really concerned,” Pauleta said.
“Portugal have dropped too many points on home soil, even if they deserved to beat Sweden. From now on it is going to be very difficult.
“We have been involved in finals for 10 years and missing our ticket would be sad.
“I would not say it would be a drama, but many people would find it hard to accept.”
