Burton Albion 1 Kettering 1
Burton dropped two valuable points in their title charge as Gareth Seddon’s 18th goal of the season earned Kettering a point at The Pirelli Stadium.
The Brewers headed into the game off the back of a three-game winning streak and had the perfect start when Darren Stride smashed in Keith Gilroy’s cutback with just eight minutes gone.
Aaron Webster saw his header cleared off the line before The Poppies equalised in the 20th minute as Seddon got on the end of Darren Wrack’s cross.
From then on it was on-way traffic as Burton piled on the pressure as Webster was twice denied by Harper who then produced a world-class save in injury time to keep out Martin Butler’s header.
Ebbsfleet United 1 Altrincham 0
Ebbsfleet climbed out of the relegation places as Ricky Shakes’ sixth-minute strike was enough to see off Altrincham and halt a four-game losing run.
Luke Moore had already gone close for the home side before 24-year-old Shakes clinically finished after The Robins had failed to clear their lines.
Leading goalscorer Michael Gash nearly made it two only for Stuart Coburn in the visitors’ goal to make a fine save on the stroke of half-time.
Altrincham’s Ben Wilkinson had an effort ruled out for offside in the second half while Greg Young fired wide in injury time when he should have hit the target for the visitors.
Grays Athletic 0 Rushden & Diamonds 0
Grays slipped into the Blue Square Premier drop zone as they were held to a goalless draw by Rushden & Diamonds.
The visitors had the better of the early chances with Andy Burgess drawing a fine save out of keeper Steve Arnold who was again on hand to deny Rob Wolleaston inside the first ten minutes.
But the best chance of the half fell to Rushden’s leading goalscorer Lee Tomlin who was put clean through only to place his shot too close to the keeper.
Grays came out fighting after the break but despite Andy Pugh seeing his effort saved by Dale Roberts neither side could break the stalemate in a dour game.
Eastbourne Borough 2 Crawley Town 1
Eastbourne bagged the Sussex bragging rights as Marc Pullan bagged his first Boro goal against his former club.
Pullan spent four years with The Red Devils but showed no mercy to his former employers as he headed in Neil Jenkins’ cross just after the break.
Nathan Crabb doubled Eastbourne’s lead on the hour mark finishing off a well-worked move.
And although Crawley did pull one back when Jenkins turned Michael Malcolm’s cross into his own net, Borough held on for their first win in four games.
Northwich 1 Salisbury 1
Leading goalscorer Charlie Griffin rescued a point for Salisbury at struggling Northwich to make it 11 games without defeat for The Lilywhites.
The Vics, fresh from their surprise 4-2 win over Rushden started brightly and deservedly took the lead when Simon Grand was given too much space in the box to finish off Ryan Brown’s corner.
Salisbury though were back on level terms just ten minutes after the break as Griffin coolly slotted home his 19th goal of the season.
The home side sensing another unlikely victory piled on the pressure in the closing stages but despite winning three consecutive injury-time corners they could not find a way through.
Histon 0 Mansfield 3
Birthday boy Nathaniel Knight Percival celebrated his 22nd in style by bagging a double in Histon’s demolition of Mansfield.
Mansfield were stubborn opposition for most of the first half but The Stutes were on their way to victory once Antonio Murray struck on 41 minutes.
The visitors suffered a hammer blow on the stroke of halftime when Knight-Percival headed in Josh Simpson’s cross for goal No.2.
And Knight-Percival got his second with time almost up as Histon kept alive their automatic promotion hopes.
York 0 Stevenage 2
Steve Morison took his tally to 26 goals for the season as Stevenage stormed back into the play-offs with a comfortable win over York.
In an even first half, Mark Robinson drew a save out of visiting keeper Chris Day, while Morison fired an effort just wide.
The deadlock was broken just three minutes after the break when Scott Laird’s cross was headed in by Lee Boylan.
And Morison got in on the act on 67 minutes after been teed up by Ronnie Henry as Stevenage leapfrog Kidderminster into the top five.
