Woking have sacked manager Phil Gilchrist after a run of one win in nine games left them stranded in the relegation zone.
Gilchrist had been in charge for only six months and managed just seven wins from 32 games to leave The Cards three points from safety.
The 35-year-old has been replaced until the end of the season by youth team coach and former Manchester City and Fulham midfielder Graham Baker.
A statement on the club website read: “It is with regret that the board took the decision last night to release manager Phil Gilchrist and his assistant Neil Lyne from their contracts.
“The board would like to place on record their thanks to both of them for all their hard work and dedication to the club. The board would also like wish them every success in the future.
“Graham Baker, will take temporary charge of the team for the remainder of this season. The board are fully behind Graham and he has their full support.”
Baker had a brief spell as The Cards' joint caretaker manager alongside Neil Smith, when Glenn Cockerill left the club in March 2007.
