Any slim hopes of an unlikely play-off place have disappeared for Kettering and Crawley after they drew 1-1 on Wednesday.
Victory for Crawley would have left them seven points adrift of the top five with three games remaining, but a draw at The A-Line Arena makes all but a mathematic impossibility.
Crawley started well at Kettering, taking the lead on 20 minutes through Dannie Bulman.
However, after a spell of more Crawley pressure, Kettering equalised just after the hour thanks to Jean-Paul Marna.
Both sides tried for a winner, with Robbie Matthews particularly influential for Town, but three points would not arrive.
