Relegated Northwich salvaged further pride in their penultimate game of the season as they extended their winning streak to five games with victory over Ebbsfleet.
The Vics’ recent run of form can only have served to agonise their fans, as they beat mid-table Fleet 2-0 at home to extend their impressive – but ultimately in vain – late-season surge.
Second-half goals from Aaron Burns and John Allan meant Northwich ended their home campaign with a win and clean sheet.
Visitors Ebbsfleet managed to hold out for the first 45 minutes, but Burns’ effort in the 61st minute was followed by Allan’s in the 83rd.
