Flamengo have revealed that Brazil international Adriano could put pen-to-paper on a one-year deal shortly.
The striker, who confessed last year to being the victim of a sleep disorder, recently cancelled his contract with Inter by mutual consent after admitting he was going through personal issues.
And he is now expected to commit his future to a Brazilian side, even if he will not be back to action before next season, as he wishes to observe a period of inactivity in order to put himself back in order.
Flamengo boss Delair Dumbrosck is determined to secure Adriano’s arrival, and he has insisted that the striker will sign with his club next week.
“Everything is fine,” Flamengo president Dumbrosck told TV Globo.
“We will make an official announcement after the final of the Sao Paulo state championship, in one week.
“The risk is slight. Just look at what Ronaldo is doing.
“Nevertheless, we will not let Adriano move to Corinthians, Vasco, or anywhere else.”
