Atletico Madrid sporting director Jesus Garcia Pitarch feels that Fernando Torres has lacked success in his career.
Torres recently justified his exit from the Vicente Calderon by saying that the Colchoneros are not a winning club.
But Pitarch is tired of being reminded about 'El Nino' every time his team lose a game and has hit back at the claims, pointing out that the Spain striker is yet to win any trophies with Liverpool.
“Only remembering Fernando Torres when we have lost two games and when he makes declarations, saying that he left because we have not won anything, is unfair, especially because he has not won anything with Liverpool either,” Pitarch told Telemadrid.
“When someone justifies himself by saying, 'I have not won anything there', then I will look on the other side and tell him, 'You are not part of the success'.
“I believe that we have failed and disappointed some people. We never thought we would lose 5-1 against Racing [Santander].”
