Manager Abel Resino will commit his future to Atletico Madrid in the next few days, according to Spanish sources.
Resino replaced Javier Aguirre earlier this season and matched the club’s target as he led the Rojiblancos to Champions League qualification.
With a seat at Europe's top table secured, the Spaniard has reportedly agreed terms on a new deal with club chairman Enrique Cerezo and sporting director Miguel Angel Gil Marin.
Resino’s arrival boosted Atletico’s form, with the capital club finishing the season like a train, claiming more points than champions Barcelona and Real Madrid to catch fourth spot.
