Morten Gamst Pedersen is hopeful of thrashing out a new deal with Blackburn Rovers.
The Norwegian had a somewhat disappointing season last term, although his performances did improve in the second half of the campaign under Sam Allardyce.
Pedersen, who has been on Rovers’ books for five years, feels the club are heading in the right direction under Allardyce and is keen to secure a contract extension.
"There were a lot of poor performances under Ince, but Allardyce has helped to bring back consistency and results have improved," Pedersen told Aftenposten.
"I have a year left on my contract and I like it at Blackburn.
"I know they want to talk about an extension, so I am calm at the moment."
Blackburn have added Elrio van Heerden to their ranks and Pedersen has welcomed the increased competition for places.
"It's good to have competition. Buying and selling is part of football," he said. "I can play several positions and I plan to keep playing regularly next season."
