Viola per la vita, says Mutu

by Laurent Picard , 03 June 2009

Adrian Mutu has stated that he will hang up his boots at Fiorentina.

The Romania international has revealed that he caresses the ambition of spending the remainder of his career with La Viola.

The former Chelsea striker has committed himself to the purple club and set his sights on qualifying for the Champions League next season.

The 30-year-old has also said that he is as good as Kaka and Zlatan Ibrahimovic and he has named his young team-mate Stevan Jovetic as his successor.

“I fully expect to stay at Fiorentina for life,” he told Calcio Mercato. “What I want to do is achieve a great season with Fiorentina, who have a huge potential and can finish at least third.

“Technically, I rate myself as highly as Kaka and Ibrahimovic, even if they have won more titles. My successor will be Jovetic.”
