Lazio striker Goran Pandev wants to leave the club to reinvigorate his career, according to his agent.
The 25-year-old Macedonia international has enjoyed a successful season in Serie A, scoring 15 goals in 37 games as well as winning the Coppa Italia.
However, agent Leonardo Corsi claimed last month that Tottenham and Hamburg were interested in Pandev and, with Juventus, Fiorentina and Bayern Munich all said to have joined the chase, the player has told Lazio he wants to move on.
“Pandev has announced his intentions to the club, who understand but obviously do not want to sell their prize asset,” Corsi told Teleradiostereo.
“If there is a team willing to meet Lazio’s financial demands, maybe they will let him leave.
“They retain a very good relationship and mutual respect, as has always been the case.
“For our part, the decision is not based on economic reasons – not least because the chairman has done all he can in that respect – but rather for sporting reasons.
“He wants a change and to test himself in a fresh environment after growing comfortable in his many years at this one particular club.
“Having said all that, it is important that we find a club of the same stature as Lazio.
“There are several teams interested, but no concrete offers as yet. When we do receive offers, the player will evaluate his options.”
Corsi has suggested that the fee would likely be similar to that Napoli paid Udinese for Fabio Quagliarella – thought to be around €16 million (£13.75m).
“I think he would be valued at the same price as Quagliarella, but we would need to take the current economic situation into consideration,” he added.
