Baggies duo want Premier League return

by Toby Davis , 05 June 2009

The agent of West Brom pair Ryan Donk and Gianni Zuiverloon says both are determined to secure moves back to The Premier League.

Donk joined The Baggies on a season-long loan from AZ Alkmaar last summer while Zuiverloon was a permanent signing from Heerenveen.

Following the club’s relegation to The Championship, Donk will have to return to Holland unless a new club comes in for him before June 12th while Zuiverloon is tied to The Hawthorns on a three-year deal.

But their agent, Winnie Haatrecht, says neither player wants to drop out of the top flight.

“Regarding Donk, if something comes along then we will think about it,” he told Elf Voetbal. “ If nothing happens by June 12th then Ryan will return to AZ for the first training session.

“He has a two-year contract  with AZ, but would consider a move.

“He has played in The Premier League this season and it was fantastic. Every player wants to play in The Premier League but he is there at the moment and doesn’t want to leave.”

And Haartrecht revealed clubs are not beating down his door to sign Zuiverloon, who still has two years to run on his Baggies contract.

“Gianni wants to play in The Premier League but there is little interest,” he added. West Brom do not want to lose him but would consider selling at the right price.

“For now, we will just wait and see, I think the transfer merry-go-round will carry on late into the summer.”
