Portsmouth defender Hermann Hreidarsson has admitted a move to Rangers during the summer would appeal to him – if he and the club part company.
The 34 year-old is uncertain of his future as his contract has expired, and as Pompey are looking for a new manager the Icelandic defender is unclear as to whether he will be surplus to requirements.
Hreidarsson though, will wait until a new manager has been appointed before deciding what to do.
"I would be interested but as yet nothing's been offered - at least nothing concrete,” Hreidarsson told the News of the World. “I'm still waiting on Portsmouth to appoint a new manager.
“I will have a word with him and see what he's got to say.
“But I would look upon the Scottish League as a good, new challenge for me.
"Rangers would be a good club for any player to move to, especially when they have the Champions League coming up next season."
