West Ham technical director Gianluca Nani has admitted that the club are interested in bringing Inter midfielder Luis Jimenez to Upton Park this summer.
The Hammers were taken over by a consortium of Icelandic banks on Monday and the new owners have pledged to free up transfer funds for manager Gianfranco Zola.
It is now reported that Jimenez, 24, could be joining the club on loan having made only six Serie A appearances for the Italian champions this season.
Nani is a confirmed fan of the player who became Chile captain at the age of 22 and joined Inter from Ternana in July 2007.
“He is a great player, one that we have always followed,” Nani told the Daily Mirror.
“He is a possibility but nothing is certain.
“He is also a non-EU player and it is not easy to get a permit for those players in England.”
