Gareth Barry believes his move to Manchester City will not spark an exodus from Villa Park.
The England midfielder completed a £12 million switch to Eastlands, prompting fears he could be followed out the door by several of the club’s young stars.
Barry, who spent 12 years at Villa, insists players such as Gabriel Agbonlahor and Ashley Young will remain at the club for years to come and will not be tempted to follow his lead.
"I can't believe any other top players at the club will leave," he told the Birmingham Mail.
"If I was 22 or 23 like Gabby (Agbonlahor) and Ashley (Young) I would want to stay at Villa Park. It is different at my age, 28."
