Blackburn Rovers defender Zurab Khizanishvili is on the verge of joining Galatasaray for €2.5 million.
Reports in Turkey claim the defender has agreed a three-year contract with the side now managed by Frank Rijkaard.
The transfer was facilitated by Khizanishvili’s former Rovers team-mate Tugay who has close links with Galatasaray having played for the Turkish giants for 13 years between 1987 and 2000.
The deal to take Khizanishvili to Istanbul will be officially completed once the Georgia captain returns from a holiday in Hawaii.
