Phil Brown has revealed concrete interest in Nancy’s Marc-Antoine Fortune and Aston Villa striker Marlon Harewood.
Brown has already set the wheels in motion on a summer move for former loanee Fraizer Campbell from Manchester United but looks unwilling to stop there in his attempts to bolster his attacking options.
Fortune impressed in The Premier League for West Brom during his brief loan stint last season and has since emerged as a target for other British clubs.
Celtic, Fulham and Wolves have all been strongly linked with the French striker for a fee likely to be in the region of £2.5 million.
"Marc-Antoine Fortune is a player that we're interested in,” Brown told the Hull Daily Mail. "We have discussed terms with his club and I would say we're probably one of three serious contenders.
"We've done our business with his club and we remain hopeful.
"He's someone who caught the eye and captured everyone's imagination in the second half of last season."
Harewood is also likely to be on the move this summer having fallen off Martin O’Neill’s radar at Villa Park and failing to impress sufficiently on loan at Wolves at the end of Mick McCarthy’s triumphant promotion campaign.
"Players with Premier League experience would interest us and Marlon Harewood is that type of player," Brown added.
"He's got good ability and he's a big and powerful forward. He is the type of player that we are looking for and there's interest from us.
"I don't know the ins and outs of his current situation. Aston Villa have got their business to do and that's up to them."
