Gattuso keen on Chelsea switch

by Toby Davis , 17 June 2009

Gennaro Gattuso has opened the door on a switch to Chelsea after admitting he would love to carry on working with Carlo Ancelotti.

His agent Andrea D’Amico recently revealed Gattuso’s distress at seeing Ancelotti quit Italy for England after the tough tackler spent eight years under the Chelsea manager at Milan.

And the Milan midfielder is keen to follow his former boss to The Premier League, despite having two years left on his current deal at the San Siro.

"I like the Premier League. The Premier League is the best league for me, for my characteristics," he said in the Daily Mirror

"I don't know what will happen. I have been at AC Milan a long time and it's not easy to go away, but we'll have to see.

"Chelsea are a big, big team but working with Ancelotti is a good feeling. We have worked together for eight years and he is for me a second father.

"He is a great person, and a great manager."
