No offers for Newcastle ace

by Laurent Picard , 17 June 2009

Fabricio Coloccini and Fernando Gago have not received any offers according to their agent Marcelo Lombilla.

Argentina international Coloccini was expected to move clubs, following a disastrous debut season with The Magpies, but his agent has insisted that no offers are on the table at the moment.

As a consequence, the defender could be playing Championship football next season with the St James’ Park side, who will start their campaign away to West Brom.

Lombilla also manages Gago’s career, and the Real Madrid midfielder is going nowhere according to him.

“Today Fernando is a Real Madrid player and he expects to come back in training for the pre-season camp,” Lombilla told Calcio Mercato.

“At the present time the club directors are yet to speak about any negotiations regarding Gago’s future, but as you know, everything can change in a short space of time in football.

“An interesting offer could be on the table in the next fortnight. But right now I don’t see why we would speak about a transfer.

“As the player’s agent, I haven’t received any offer. Gago is being linked to another team every day in the press, that’s the same for Coloccini, my other client.

“But right now it’s only speculation.”
