Monaco manager Guy Lacombe has dismissed the possibility of signing Andriy Shevchenko as ‘fantasy’.
The Ukrainian striker is still under contract at Chelsea, but is expected to be released this summer after spending last season on loan at Milan.
The 32-year-old failed to make an impact at the San Siro and has been touted for moves to Roma and Monaco, with the Ligue 1 club claiming on Tuesday they had been offered the player.
But their manager Lacombe ruled out the possibility of signing the 2004 Ballon D’Or winner.
“It is fantasy that we could even think about signing Shevchenko,” he told French radio station RMC.
