Speaking to setanta.com, Mohamed Zidan’s agent has denied that Blackburn have enquired about the striker.
The Egypt international, who is currently on international duty in South Africa, has been linked with Rovers, while Sam Allardyce is rumoured to be searching for a striker that could bolster his attack and compensate the possible departure of Manchester City target Roque Santa Cruz.
Twenty-seven-year-old Borussia Dortmund star Zidan, who is one of the best finishers in the German league, made a name for himself in the Bundesliga, while playing for Werder Bremen, Mainz and Hamburg.
Ivan Marko Benes, the African’s agent, has refused to close the door on a possible move, but he insisted that Zidan is happy in Dortmund and has not been approached by any Premier League team.
“Blackburn have not contacted us,” Benes told setanta.com. “And no Premier League clubs have approached Mohamed, who is happy in Dortmund.
“Still, he has a three-year deal with Borussia, and even if anything can happen in football, and a big offer could change everything, I expect him to stay at the club.”
Another player heavily linked with a move to Ewood Park is Espanyol’s Ivan de la Pena, whose agent admits that he has received an offer from Rovers.
"I am dealing with some very important offers for Ivan, one of them from Blackburn," the Daily Star quote him as saying.
"There have also been bids from Spartak Moscow, from Greece and the UAE.
"Ivan wants to be the best paid player at Espanyol - they recognise his ability but his salary does not reflect this."
