Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has confirmed that he could be leaving the club on loan during the forthcoming season.
The Poland youth international is a familiar face in the club’s reserve ranks and even made the bench for the final game of the Premier League season against Stoke City on May 24.
The player who started that game, Vito Mannone, benefitted from a loan spell with Barnsley in the 2006-2007 season and now Szczesny could well follow in the footsteps of his Italian colleague.
The 19-year-old has revealed that five clubs are hoping to sign him on a temporary basis, with Bristol City and Brighton amongst his reported suitors.
“I have received five loan bids,” Szczesny told the Polish press.
“Two have come from Championship teams and three teams from League One.”
