I had a terrible week - David Villa

by Laurent Picard , 21 June 2009

Valencia hit-man David Villa has described his week as ‘terrible’, following endless speculation regarding his future.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City and Chelsea are all after the Spain striker, but a big-money transfer to the Spanish capital collapsed this week after Valencia turned down an offer judged insufficient.

Reports have claimed that Los Che would like the striker to join The Blues, while he is determined to remain in his homeland.

Villa, who is currently on international duty in South Africa, expects negotiations to continue for a while, and he is prepared to wait to discover his fate.

“To be honest, this week has been terrible for me,” he told Marca. “Nobody can imagine what I have been through.

“As a consequence and after speaking with my family, I have decided to be focused on my selection. My only mission is not thinking about it and showing what I am worth.

“I am realistic and understand that my future will not be sorted shortly. I do not have anything to say about my future, I am only thinking of the present time.”
