Former Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri has dismissed reports that he could replace Dick Advocaat as Zenit St Petersburg manager.
Advocaat has announced that he will leave the Russian side in November to become the new manager of the Belgian national side and Ranieri had been mooted as a potential replacement.
However the Italian, who was sacked as Juventus boss at the end of last season, has denied that he will be joining the 2008 Uefa Cup winners.
"Don't believe what they write about me with relation to Zenit," said Ranieri.
"I respect this Russian side and remember all too well how tough it was for my Juventus in last year's Champions League against them.
“However, my current plans do not involve working in Russia. My supposed move to Zenit is nothing but make-believe by the papers."
