Severin completes Watford switch

by Gordon Pope , 23 June 2009

Watford have signed Aberdeen midfielder Scott Severin after his deal at Pittodrie expired.

The former Hearts star had made his desire to leave The Dons clear and now joins a growing band of Scots in The Championship, such as new team-mate Don Cowie.

“Watford have confirmed they have completed the signing of Aberdeen captain Scott Severin,” a statement on the Aberdeen website read.

“The 30-year-old was out of contract this summer and therefore free to speak to other clubs.

“During the course of his time at Pittodrie Severin has been inspirational in both the Aberdeen midfield and defence, clocking up 195 appearances for The Dons. He also made 15 international appearances.

“Everyone at Pittodrie wishes Scott all the very best for the future.”
