West Brom manager Tony Mowbray will be without the services of midfielder James Morrison for at least two games, after it was confirmed the Scot will undergo a scan on a hamstring injury.
Morrison limped out of The Baggies’ 2-1 derby defeat at the hands of Aston Villa on Saturday, having scored his side’s goal.
The 22-year-old will now have the problem properly assessed by West Brom’s medical staff, and will miss the FA Cup third round replay at Peterborough on Tuesday as well as the Premier League visit of his former club Middlesbrough on Saturday.
And a scan will reveal whether Morrison will be unavailable for longer, with his absence adding to the unavailability of Gianni Zuiverloon who is struggling with a knee injury.
"With any injury, and in James's case, you need to let it settle down to see where it is," said Baggies assistant boss Mark Venus.
"Gianni hasn't trained properly yet but I would suggest tomorrow will come too soon for him and I don't know about Saturday.
"Whether he'll train on Thursday and Friday and put himself into contention, maybe.”
Filipe Teixeira could feature against Peterborough however after recovering from a calf strain.
"Filipe has trained for two days and looked okay,” added Venus.
"Whether he will be involved tomorrow is up to the manager.
"Let's hope he has no more recurrences of his injuries."
Meanwhile, Mowbray has agreed to allow striker Sherjill MacDonald to join Belgian side Roeselare on loan for the remainder of the season, with a deal in the final stages of completion and subject to paperwork.
Polish striker Bartosz Slusarski has had his contract at The Hawthorns terminated by mutual consent.
