The time for talking, analysing and dissecting is over according to Galway captain Ollie Canning.
Speaking at the launch of the 2009 hurling championship in Kilkenny on Wednesday, the Portumna defender admitted it was time for the perennial underachievers to "s*** or get off the pot".
Galway, then in the charge of Ger Loughnane, crashed out of the championship in 2008 when they went down to an inspired Cork side in Semple Stadium.
On that night, Ollie's kid brother, Joe, contributed 2-12 to Galway's cause, but the elder Canning insists that despite Joe's performance that night and since for both club and county Galway are not a one-man show.
"It was obvious that only a couple of people [other than Joe] scored last year," the 32-year-old said.
"But if Joe is not on the frees then you are going to have another guy there getting six or seven frees. Joe's score tallies have limits. Obviously against Cork he scored a lot from play as well.
Canning went on: "Everybody is working on this. It is not a conscious thing that Joe is there on his own... we just need everybody working together and getting everyone's work-rate up to the required level to compete with the best teams in it."
