David Haye has told Setanta Sports that his training camp in Cyprus is the best place for him to train ahead of his June 20th clash with Wladimir Klitschko.
With nearly over 60,000 people expected to cram into the VTL Arena for next month's bout, a fight that can be seen live on Setanta Sports, Haye is happy that he is getting the best possible preparation ahead of the contest.
"I've been training here in north Cyprus for the past two years before all my fights - it's beautiful and it really is a nice place," Haye told Setanta Sports News.
"I get my fish every morning, it's all fresh. The fruit, the veg - everything is seasonal. I get the most out of myself when I put the right fuel in me. The sun always helps as well.
"It's a really big contrast to the training I've done over the years in central London - to come out here and just get away from everything. All I need to do is focus on the fight and I've got very few distractions.
"Even when you're training and it's calm, you still know there's a storm coming and you have to really, really push yourself. I just get more out of myself in this sort of environment."
Haye's trainer, Adam Booth, meanwhile, admitted that making sure his fighter's head is right is as important as his physical training.
"Fighting is a natural instinct. It's supposed to happen in the spur of the moment, like animals in the wild," he added, speaking to Setanta Sports' news channel.
"But in the world of professional fighting, you have to be ready for a certain date at a certain time against a certain person and there's nothing spontaneous about it.
"You are preparing for something that's supposed to be instinctive and spontaneous instinct for man but you're planning for it weeks in advance. So there has to be a mental calm when you're training for that."
