Haye to announce future plans

David Haye will discuss where he goes next following the calling off of his Wladimir Klitschko bout at a press conference this afternoon.

Haye was forced to pull out of his scheduled June 20 heavyweight title fight with Klitschko due to an injured back.

The IBF/WBO champion will now face WBA title claimant Ruslan Chagaev in a unification match in Gelsenkirchen.

There has been speculation that Haye will now meet Vitali Klitschko in September and at a 1.30pm press conference in London he will set the record straight on this matter as well as his recovery from injury.

hay is the icon of true british sportsmanship but to put a claim of injury on this ocasion is higly ungentalmany i personaly thisnk hes droped his arse on this one

Personally agree with both of you although we obviously don't have the expertise that the conspiracty theorists have.
If i can expand on what you guys said

1 - Boxing is an individual sport so if Haye can't operate to his full potential - unlike football - he can't have a sub come on for him.

2 - Also unlike most individual sports this is a hard combat sport where a bad defeat could spell the end of a career for any fighter so why risk all that?

This is like reading a Conspiracy Theory website. If he had lost in June all of you slagging off David would be the first to complain that he was using a back injury as an excuse after the event. If he is injured then he has every right to postpone the fight. Would you want him to fight at less than 100%. Lets see how good the Chagaev fight will be, Oh hold on it will be another static jab fest, Win or lose at least David brings some much needed excitement to the Heavyweight Division

No one has bottled anything, but if any of you guys have ever boxed or done any sort of real sport you would know that you aim to peak for the fight or the event you are participating in. Klitschko must have been just about peak and he has every right to choose the far more dangerous Chagaev. The delay could do Haye some good and if he is as good as he says he should take on Dimitrenko and prove his status!

Adz you can't cancel your tickets. You've been bumped mate. Just like the rest who paid to see David Haye. He's not fighting a champ cause of his back and english fans can't get a refund on tickets. Disgrace

Every goal as they go in across all the leagues plus live rugby updates every time the action is unfolding.

An amazing fight, I would like to see another between these two warriors. Although cotto is my fav boxer, he was in trouble at times and when Clottey beat his chest and started smiling at Cotto, it reminded me of when he hit Margueritto with his hardest shot and didn't hurt him and it made me think here we go again!
