Jennings would welcome Brook contest

Michael Jennings said on Steve Bunce's Boxing Hour that he next would like a European title fight or a meeting with Kell Brook.

In January, Jennings was stopped in the fifth round in a vacant WBO contest by Miguel Cotto, who faces Joshua Clottey in the early hours of Sunday morning live on Setanta Sports 2.

The Preston fighter, whose band The Shoks are supporting Ian Brown later this year, is keen to get back into meaningful fights.

Many would like to see the experienced welterweight face young British champion Brook and Jennings said he would be delighted to take this contest.

"At the end of the day I've never been one for picking opponents," Jennings said on Setanta Sports News.

"If that's the fight that they want then great. I want a title fight. I don't want to be fighting six or eight rounds for the rest of my career.

"I don't know if it's been vacated. I beat him in Widnes, absolutely hammered him - so that's an option as well."
